I was born with a large appetite
After a passionate fifty five year relationship with food and wine I have finally reached my ultimate goal. I am taking over the legendary Sjömagasinet where I will continue to serve well prepared food of the highest class.
It’s been a long but inspiring road to reach where I am now.
My experiences have been numerous and I have gathered knowledge from a host of fantastic restaurants along the way, among these Grythyttan, Park Avenue, Göstas, The Place, Fiskekrogen and Basement.
During my time at “The Place” I was the first in Gothenburg to receive one star in the Guide Michelin. My excitement was to be repeated several years later when I received yet another star at my restaurant “Basement”.
Many well-known chefs have crossed my path and I have had the pleasure of cooking alongside Leif Mannerström at Sjömagasinet during a two year period a while back. Leif taught me in an uncompromising way that it’s the love of cooking and the quality of the ingredients that are the difference between great cooking and excellence. This knowledge is now the guiding star in my kitchen at Sjömagasinet.
My Philosophy is the “total dining experience”. I believe that a meal has 3 dimensions; food, beverages and spiritual fulfillment, the ambiance that encompasses the total experience.
I am excited and happy to be able to continue my work in this wonderful setting with my love Ingalill by my side.
